Estée Lauder’s portrait by Peter Engels
In 2013, we had the unique opportunity to commission renowned artist Peter Engels to paint a portrait of Estée Lauder for Villa Roche Cline, her first home in France. This villa, with its remarkable history and stunning views of the Côte d'Azur, deserved something equally special to honor its former owner.
Estée Lauder’s portrait now graces the interior wall of the lounge in the villa, adding both elegance and a sense of homage to its legacy. Engels masterfully incorporated her favorite color, aqua green, which Lauder famously adored, and subtly blended it into the background to echo the villa’s design. The beautiful central staircase of **Villa Roche Cline** was featured alongside her likeness, symbolizing both her grace and the architectural grandeur of the home.
The painting is more than just a tribute—it connects the past with the present, preserving Lauder's spirit within the walls of this historic villa. The result is a harmonious blend of artistry and personal history, giving Villa Roche Cline a touch of timeless beauty that reflects Estée Lauder’s sophisticated legacy.
